Forgive You, Leon Bridges

Charter Club Slipper Socks

My head lulls backward giving better access to the soft, moist, lips devouring my neck and shoulders. I try to hold in the low, desperate growl rolling in my throat, not wanting to broadcast how good it feels. It seems like an eternity since I have felt this kind of pleasure.

“You like that,” he states confidently. I love what he is doing to me. A contented moan escapes.

The cocky smile I envision on his obscured face as he places tiny bits of magic on my neck, shoulders, and breasts, lets me know he will not stop working me until I am screaming his name. This is where I want to be, in his arms awaiting my happy ending.

“I have missed you,” he declares. I purr when gifted hands travel southward to my stomach—clenching with anticipation—and beyond. A soft whoosh of air exits my lips when his deft, probing fingers hit the spot. Impatiently, I lift my hips to greet them. My back arches and hardened nipples thrust forward begging his attention, as he blows and licks them into firm peaks.

“Please,” I whimper.

“Patience. . . Kitten.”

Kitten? “NO!” I yell and shoot straight up in bed.

“Mallory. Mallory,” a familiar, calm, firm, voice calls. I can’t see! God, am I blind!?

“I’ve got you, Baby. You are safe.”

I blink and strain my eyes, and then close them tightly. Taking several ujjayi breaths, I slowly open my eyes to see Heath, sitting beside me, holding me, anchoring me. That was frightening.

“Thank you.”

“You don’t have to thank me, Mallory. I am here for you. You remembered something in your dream. Would you like to talk about it?”

“No.” Not wanting to appear rude or seem unappreciative, I explain, “My memories are fragmented like a bootlegged movie with many blackened scenes. The ones I see don’t make sense to me yet.”

“I understand. It will take time.” Heath kisses my forehead. “Are you hungry? Would you like dinner?”

“I’m still full from lunch. Did I thank you for arranging it for me?”

“Yes, several times. Your sisters thanked me also,” he chuckles.

“They really enjoyed it, and the flan for dessert was delicious. We each had a generous spoonful.”

“Are you certain you don’t want anything? Chef is waiting for your order. I can have anything you want here within the hour.”

“No, really. I couldn’t eat anything right now. I would like a cup of chamomile tea though, please.”

“Sure.” he pushes an intercom button and orders tea from the hospital’s housekeeping. Soon after drinking the tea and eating a few Wheat Thins, my eyes become heavy again.
